BIOGRAPHICAL INFO

Dr Martha Landman is an exceptionally skilled and well-trained psychologist with 40 years of comprehensive counselling experience. She is an active member of the Australian Psychological Society. From liaising with GPs to running group programs, Martha’s counselling positions have given her a wide range of expertise and a deep understanding of the issues people struggle with daily. She specialises in counselling clients aged 20 years and older.

Martha is trained in a variety of therapies for the resolution of trauma, including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Affect Regulation Therapy, Brainspotting, and Clinical Hypnosis. She is a qualified and skilled practitioner of The Richards Trauma Process, creating relatively fast and lasting results. Martha’s commitment is to using best-practice, evidence-based methods that offer best outcomes. As a result of consistent good outcomes, therapy is often brief and solution-focused.

Martha provides a nonjudgmental and confidential environment, allowing you to feel comfortable being open and honest about your concerns. She assists you at your own pace, empowering you to achieve your goals. Martha helps you to recognise the core issues underlying the thoughts, emotions and behaviours that tend to sabotage you in achieving your goals and use strategies to overcome these.

Martha has an interest and specialised skills in dealing with anxiety, depression, debilitating stress, unresolved grief, posttraumatic stress disorder, dissociative disorders, anger management and many other conditions. In addition to her deep insight and the effective tools and strategies she has acquired during many years of practice, Martha is particularly skilled in methods to overcome these challenges in a relatively short space of time. No matter how distressed you may feel when first attending a session, you will most likely leave with a sense of hope and a firm belief that your issues can be overcome.
